Govt.Ashram Girls High School (Tribal Welfare) was established in Peddamadi village of Meliaputti mandal in Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh State in 1970s specially for the benefit of S.T. children.
The main objective of establishment of Govt.Ashram Schools (Tribal Welfare) is to provide both education and hostel facility at one point.
Majority of the students admitted in the school are from poor Scheduled Tribe families.
In our school, we provide education and hostel facility to the students from 3rd class to 10th class. We have qualified teachers and able administration. At present we are providing education to 400 students.
We are directly administered by the Deputy Educational Officer, ITDA, Seethampeta, Srikakulam District in academic matters and the Deputy Director (Tribal Welfare), ITDA, Seethampeta under the overall supervision of the Project Officer (IAS officer), ITDA, Seethampeta, Srikakulam District.
